Not to mention that regens are still mandatory. Prices are now given in real world currencies and somewhat more realistic (although their are massive issues with release clauses), but the primitive youth system feels completely outdated nowadays when compared to other sports games with career modes. Konami touted a big three-year plan, but other than a few minor tweaks and cosmetic updates like cutscenes, nothing came out of it. In recent years, it has been pretty much relegated to legacy status. All and all, it`s the same PES, you`ll get around it fast.ĭefinitely not. In the last couple of releases it kind off stagnated.

The ML could be better, and more engaging. I miss the quirks of a Castolo like game, but I won`t complain much. I`m also an older player, jumped from Pes 2008 to Pes 2016. (xbox does not read jpeg files or something like that). I think for PC and PS there are option files and modding communities, but for Xbox you can`t, cause of the limitations of the system, I guess. It still is and you can edit almost anything, outside the licensed teams and leagues. You can find the correct names online and if you add them to a team, you can play them in ML. But the stats are kind of what you would expect for a dummy Beckham, for example. There are 2 classic teams in game already, but the names and skins and everything are made up. Now it`s all through coins (hard currency) and you can unlock Classic players via M圜lub - with faces, skins and likeness. There are no PES Points (I think that`s how they were called). But, if you find yourself really really wanting an IM player, the randomness of the purchase will drive you mad. But you can still manage to enjoy the game without spending too much. It`s not as aggressive as in Fifa but some M圜lub Features are kept after a hard currency (pay) wall.

While in Pes 4-5-6 you have a graph after each game, here the player development is once a (game) month through text. A difference is that the evolution of young players is not that exciting anymore, visual wise. It is enjoyable if you compare it to the versions you played last time. But as a new player in the current generation I don`t think it will bother you that much. M圜lub is the main resource that Konami pushes on. I don`t think ML is the meat of the game anymore.
